Kilden Kultur presents: "An evening of Amy" - KRS SOUL STEW with guests
"Me & Mr. Jones", "Back to Black", "Valerie", "Tears dry on their Own", "Rehab" and "Our day will come"
July 23 marks the tenth anniversary of the death of the woman behind these songs, Amy Winehouse, aged just 27.
Amy was the shy British teenage girl with the guitar, impressing record labels with her distinctive jazz voice and honest lyrics.
She grew into a megastar, with an unmistakable image: big, black slicked-back hair and eye make-up shaped like wings. A queen of pop, soul and jazz.
Her collaborations with world-renowned producers put her on the charts all over the world. In 2008, she picked up award after award at the Grammys.
Amy's life ended in tragedy, and her amazing music was somewhat forgotten in tabloid press reports from chasing paparazzi.
With "An evening of Amy", KRS Soul Stews will bring out the real musical treats from her career, and in its own way pay tribute to this unique artist on a big stage. The energetic nine-piece band from Kristiansand has in recent years traveled around the country with authentic 60s soul.
KRS Soul Stew was born out of a desire to give southerners concerts with the atmosphere you find in the party and music city of New Orleans.
The musicians have backgrounds from a number of genres and bands, such as Ytre Suløens Jass-ensemble, Thom Hell, Blow - for Tom Waits, Christianssand Storband and Darkside Of The Force.
Soloists this evening are Klara Høeg, Heidi Solheim and Synnøve Stulien Lauen
Klara has been KRS Soul Stew's own vocalist since the start in 2018, but also has her own solo career based in Oslo. She has a degree in performing rhythmic music from the University of Agder, and is working towards her first album. Klara has a strong relationship with Amy Winehouse from childhood.
Heidi Solheim lives in Lillesand and studied at the Tromsø Conservatory of Music. She has released ten albums, including under her alias Pristine, with her main market in Germany. Solheim can frequently be found on tour along the Autobahn. Heidi is a versatile artist and this fall she will release her third children's music album.
Talented Synnøve Stulien Lauen from Byremo in Lyngdal is this year completing her music studies at Vågsbygd upper secondary school. She comes from a musical family that is well known in Agder, and has been on stage since she was a little girl. It's especially the lyrics and Amy's voice that appeal to Synnøve.
