Kilden Vocal Ensemble

Kilden Vokalensemble (KVE ) is Southern Norway's only professional vocal ensemble, and has for many years played a central role in the region's music scene. The ensemble is closely linked to Kilden Opera and Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, and regularly participates in opera, oratorio and symphonic productions in Kilden.

KVE also produces its own a cappella concerts with a wide range of genres and high artistic quality.

Under artistic director Marit Tøndel Bodsberg, the ensemble has developed a clearer artistic profile and strengthened its expression. KVE presents productions that challenge and develop - both in terms of repertoire and concert form.

The ensemble's goal is to present vocal music at a high level, with a distinctive character that reflects both tradition and contemporaneity. KVE is also an important source of expertise in the region, and collaborates actively with choirs of all ages to strengthen the broad choral scene in Agder.

Chief conductor

Marit Tøndel Bodsberg graduated from the Norwegian Academy of Music and the University of Agder. She is currently conductor and artistic director of the professional ensemble Kilden Vokalensemble. Marit is also the artistic director and conductor of the Norwegian Student Choral Society and the Female Student Choral Society at the University of Oslo and teaches conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music and in the Talent Development Program (TUP) at the University of Agder.

Project choir

Kilden Vocal Ensemble is a project choir and consists of 16 regular singers who are associated with KVE for a three-year period. KVE is an elite initiative that continually seeks to attract the best singers on the market to create vocal music at an international level. The ambition is also to be an attractive workplace that helps even more trained singers to settle in southern Norway.
