Kilden (KVE) is Southern Norway’s only professional vocal ensemble and has played a central role in the region’s music scene for many years.
The ensemble has close ties toKilden andthe Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, and regularly performs in opera, oratorio, and symphonic productions at Kilden.
In addition, KVE produces its owna cappella concertsfeaturing a wide range of genres and high artistic quality.
Under the artistic direction ofMarit Tøndel Bodsberg,the ensemble has developed a clearer artistic profile and strengthened its artistic expression. KVE presents productions that challenge and evolve—both in terms of repertoire and concert format.
The ensemble’s goal is to perform vocal music at a high level, with a distinctive style that reflects both tradition and the contemporary era. KVE is also a keysource of expertise in the region and actively collaborates with choirs of all ages to strengthen the vibrant choral scene in Agder.

Marit is a graduate of the Norwegian Academy of Music and the University of Agder. She is currently the conductor and artistic director of the professional ensemble Kilden . Marit is also the artistic director and conductor of the Norwegian Student Choir and the Women’s Student Choir at the University of Oslo, and teaches conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music and in the Talent Development Program (TUP) at the University of Agder.
The Kilden Ensemble
TheKilden Ensemble is a project choir consisting of 16 permanent singers who are affiliated with KVE for a three-year period. KVE is an elite initiative that continuously seeks to attract the best singers on the market to create vocal music at an international level. The ambition is also to be an attractive workplace that helps encourage even more trained singers to settle in Southern Norway.
