"Snowing on my Piano" was born out of a desire for peace and quiet at Christmas - a break from stress, gift hysteria and the expectation to be constantly happy.
As a young man, I worked in a psychiatric hospital emergency room, and it was a shock to discover that Christmas is also a time of depression, loneliness and domestic violence.
When a German record company asked me to make a solo piano album with Christmas songs, I had my doubts. For me, Christmas is first and foremost about loving each other and having time for each other. That's the most important thing we can do.
At this concert, Bugge will also be joined by Southern Norway's great jazz queen, Hilde Hefte.
