deLillos was formed in Oslo in 1984. The group is considered one of the most significant in Norwegian music from the 1980s to the present day. Along with Raga Rockers, DumDum Boys and Jokke & Valentinerne, deLillos are referred to as one of the four great Norwegian rock groups.
The band has won the Spellemann Award twice: for Neste sommer they won the Spellemann Award 1993 in the rock category and for Sent og tidlig they won the Spellemann Award 1995 in the group category. The band also won the Gammleng Award in the pop category in 1994. The band has also been nominated for the Spellemann Award in the rock category four times: in 1987 for Før var det morsomt med sne, in 1989 for Hjernen er alene, in 1997 for Stakkars and in 2000 for Kast alle papirene, and in the pop group category in 2010 for Hjernen er alene i Operaen. They have also been nominated for Fiddler of the Year in 1994, Song of the Year for "Smak av honning" in 1995 and the Norwegian hit of all time for "Neste sommer" in 2001.
Lars Lillo-Stenberg took part in Hver gang vi møtes in 2014. The same fall, deLillos released the album "Rett og slett livet" to rave reviews. The album was #1 on iTunes and the VG album chart after its release.
