Early one morning, the forest comes to life and a wood elf finds an egg. She guards the egg and dreams about what lives in it. We follow the wondrous transformation from egg to newly hatched fledgling, and the fledgling's transformation into a beautiful, full-grown bird capable of flight. "The Egg" is a visual poetic performance without words, with shadow play, music and movement.

About Det stille teateret

Det stille teateret is a performing arts company run by actor and director Thea Skallevold. We produce visual, poetic performances for babies, children, youth and adults. Det stille teateret's performances have been performed in cultural centers, libraries, schools and kindergartens across the country, as well as at festivals at home and abroad.

We have had co-productions with Bergen International Festival, Teater Manu, Turnéorganisasjon for Hedmark and Teater Innlandet. The production "På havets bunn" (At the bottom of the sea) was purchased by Riksteatret. For the production of "The Egg" we received grants from the Arts Council Norway, Spenn, Vestfold and Telemark County Council, Viken County Council and the Norwegian Actors Association.

We use a lot of music in our performances and emphasize visual effects such as movement, puppetry, lighting and shadow play. We want to create magical performing arts experiences that can be enjoyed regardless of linguistic background.

• Anette Løbach: Actor with education from Westerdahls and Bårdarakademiet. She has extensive experience in acting for children and young people, and has worked at Temte Productions and Brageteatret in several productions. Anette has extensive experience in dance, physical theater and musical theater and has been associated with Det stille teateret since 2018. Anette has further education in clowning and is both a hospital clown and nursing home clown in Klokkeklovnene.

• Thea Skallevold: Educated at the Theater Academy in Stockholm, and has worked with physical theater and puppetry since 2010. She has worked at Orionteatern, Pantomimteatern, Kattas Figurteater, Temte Productions and Swiss Lunidea. Thea has further education in clowning and is a nursing home clown in Klokkeklovnene. Thea started Det stille teateret together with Håvard Steensen in 2014.

• Kristjan Belgau: Lighting designer and technician with extensive experience from both institutional theaters and independent performing arts groups. He has worked at Riksteatret, Oslo Nye Teater, Vega Scene, Dramatikkens hus, Marius Kolbenstvedt and Flaaten Bjørk Kompani. Kristjan has been associated with Det stille teateret since 2022.
