MIN FORESTILLING OM MOR is actress Bente Børsum's gripping monologue about her mother, who, from being a well-married doctor's wife on the best west side of town, rather accidentally fell into the resistance movement during World War II.
She was arrested, tortured and sent to the Ravensbrück concentration camp in Germany. She barely survived two years in the women's camp, but when she returned home after liberation she was unable to return to her old life. She left her family behind. And Bente.
The performance is based on Bente's own memories and her mother's books "Fange i Ravensbruck" and "Speilbilder".
Adapted and directed by Anne-Karen Hytten.
Violinist: Magnhild Skomedal Torvanger. Stage designer: Christine Lohre.
Bente Børsum has performed this monologue regularly since the world premiere at Cafeteatret in Nov. 2006.
On April 7, 2024, the show had been performed 247 times.
Now, when 91-year-old Bente Børsum returns to Kilden to perform her show, it may be the last time she appears on stage.
