In this concert, we present new works by composers who have their musical affiliation some distance from classical music, and who have been commissioned to compose for solo instrument and classical symphony orchestra.
Danish Nicklas Schmidt has had great success as a composer of film, TV and game music. His most recent works include the documentary about Frederik IX, for which he composed the main theme. The music for the film Becoming Astrid has also received good reviews. Schmidt's double concerto for violin and cello will be performed by Loussine Azizian, violinist in KSO, and Jakob Kullberg, professor at the Royal College of Music in London.
Øystein Sevåg, composer, keyboardist and more, moves between different genres. He has been behind a number of successful productions that have attracted international attention. His work will be performed by Norwegian jazz icon Bendik Hofseth.
Welcome to an exciting and unusual concert!
