For comfort - Silver & Haddy Njie

With words and sounds, Haddy Njie and the ensemble SØLV will give the audience a memorable and
therapeutic hour about loss, grief, letting go and finding comfort. During All Saints' Day
we remember those we have lost, and in grief it can often be difficult to find the
right words. Many poets and writers have spent a lifetime trying to find
words that can soothe, warm, strengthen and give meaning when grief strikes, and music
has a unique ability to reach in where words fail.

In this program, texts by great Norwegian and international authors are put together with
beautiful baroque music for SØLV's unique instrumentation of two viola d'amores, viola da gamba and lute.
Viola d'amore gets its name from the special sound it creates
with its lower strings that resonate - like on a harding fiddle - and with the
immediate and easily accessible baroque music, the audience is invited to indulge
while the words sink in.

Haddy Njie is a warm and beloved host of traditional programs such as the telethon, Idrettsgallaen and Kvelden før kvelden. She has also led major national events such as the Constitutional Jubilee, as well as the memorial concert and the annual concert after July 22. As a singer, she has released albums and performed in several musicals. In addition, she has written several books and released four albums of her own music. Haddy Njie is also a sought-after performance and conference host.

The ensemble SØLV consists of four of the foremost specialists in baroque music in Norway. Ingrid Økland plays viola d'amore and baroque violin, Mari Giske viola d'amore and baroque viola, Gunnar Hauge plays viola da gamba and Thomas Boysen historical lute instruments.
