Finally, Askil Holm and Annabelle Despard with multi-instrumentalist Freddy Holm are back in Kilden again! Undringstimen 3 is a unique encounter between two generations. At the intersection of rock and poetry. Askil Holm is an award-winning rock musician and songwriter. Annabelle Despard is a writer. She has published textbooks, prose and poetry collections, and will be releasing a new novel in the fall of 2022.
The two artists have created a brand new performance together that will open up a sense of wonder. Wonder about life, and about all the strange things that exist and all the strange things people do.
Askil Holm is a Norwegian artist, musician, songwriter and record producer from Namsos living in Kristiansand. He is a performer and creator both as a solo artist and as a member of the group Lind, Nilsen, Fuentes & Holm, which has had great success since its inception in 2006, and their last tour was in 2019.
He was also one of the initiators and founders of the Bachelor's program "Songwriter and Artist" at UiA, which started in 2015, and the Master's program "Songwriting", which started in autumn 2018. He works at UiA on the research project "The legacy of Preus", and has written nearly 300 songs since he started as a solo artist in 2000.
Annabelle Despard is an author, translator and lecturer living in Kristiansand. She has published textbooks, two prose books, seven poetry collections in Norwegian and one in English. Her poem "Should you die first" was named one of "The Fifty Best Love Poems of the past Fifty Years" in 2114. Her latest collection, Vannet bestemmer (Water Decides), was published in 2020, and she will publish a new novel in the fall of 2022.
She is bilingual. Her English translations include The Swallow by Henrik Wergeland. She is currently working on Jan Erik Vold's Mor Godhjertas glade version. Yes.
She has a master's degree in philosophy and was for many years associate professor of British studies at the University of Agder. She has participated actively in theater and cultural life in Kristiansand, where she lives.
Freddy Holm is a Norwegian guitarist from Halden, multi-instrumentalist, bandleader and producer. He plays a variety of instruments, such as acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro, lapsteel, pedalsteel, keys, viola, fiddle and cello.
Holm was songwriter and guitarist in the band Cornflakes (1994-2002), the country pop band Corazón (formerly El Corazón) 2001-2007 and The Salmon Smokers (2012-).
He has contributed to recordings with Elias Akselsen, Hilde Heltberg, Tommy Tokyo & Starving For My Gravy and Lars Lillo-Stenberg. Holm has also played with Morten Harket, Henning Kvitnes, Rita Eriksen, Anita Skorgan, Sivert Høyem, Paal Flaata and Marthe Valle.
