The audience can see Vebjørn Sand meet and draw a contemporary witness from World War II. This will provide an insight into the process behind the portrait series "Faces of History" in Roseslottet. Eimund Sand will take the audience into the magical universe of geometry through the performance "Mattemagi".

The exhibition is open from 12:00-16:00. Vebjørn starts his drawing of a time witness at the opening.

In connection with the activities, the public can meet the artists and see the exhibition of paintings and sculptures from Roseslottet.

The exhibition provides an insight into the Roseslottet art park at the top of Holmenkollen in Oslo. The park consists of 300 portraits, paintings, sculptures and installations that tell the story of the struggle for freedom from 1940-45 and the values that were robbed from us during the occupation: democracy, the rule of law and humanism.

Faces of history Central to Roseslottet is the portrait series "Faces of history" with contemporary witnesses from the Second World War, whom Vebjørn Sand has traveled around in recent years to meet and paint. We get to see Vebjørn Sand meet a local witness whom he will draw, and get an insight into the process behind the portrait series.

Food magic with Eimund Sand At 13:00, Eimund Sand takes us into the magical universe of geometry with the performance "Food magic". Here we experience the visible mathematics and how everything in nature has geometric patterns. In Roseslottet, universal values such as human rights are conveyed through the universal language of geometry.

Selected works The exhibition shows selected original paintings and original geometric figures from Roseslottet. We will see full-length portraits of women and men who fought for freedom, portraits of contemporary witnesses and paintings that act as windows into the history of the occupation. The war in Norway is told in new and surprising ways, and Vebjørn Sand can talk about the various sources of inspiration and techniques he used when painting the pictures.

Local stories The Rose Castle contains stories from all over the country and the exhibition has an extra focus on the local stories of each place it visits.

Support Roseslottet's tour is supported by the Government through the Ministry of Defense and the Hans Herman Horn Foundation.
