Through film, images, music and storytelling, Vebjørn Sand and Eimund Sand take us into their artistic universe and tell us about the important values that were robbed from us during the Second World War, and which we fought to regain: Democracy, rule of law and humanism.

The artists take us on a journey to Roseslottet - an outdoor art park, where the struggle for freedom and its values are conveyed through portraits of contemporary witnesses, paintings, sculptures and sound and light installations.

After the performance, the audience can meet the artists and see an exhibition of selected original paintings and geometric figures from Roseslottet.

The Rose Castle uses the universal language of geometry to convey universal values, such as human rights.

We see full-length portraits of women and men who fought for freedom, portraits of eyewitnesses and paintings that act as windows into the history of the occupation. The war in Norway is told in new and surprising ways, and Vebjørn Sand can talk about the various sources of inspiration and techniques he used when painting the pictures.

The Rose Castle contains stories from all over the country and the exhibition has an extra focus on the local stories of each place it visits.

12:00-16:00 in the foyer: Exhibition and family activities with Vebjørn Sand and Eimund Sand

The audience can see Vebjørn Sand meet and draw a contemporary witness from World War II. This will provide an insight into the process behind the portrait series "Faces of History" in Roseslottet. Eimund Sand will take the audience into the magical universe of geometry through the performance "Mattemagi".

In connection with the activities, the public can meet the artists and see the exhibition of paintings and sculptures from Roseslottet.
