- I'm incredibly proud. This feels like my second home, and it's a and it's a very special feeling to know that I'll be working even more closely with this wonderful orchestra for years to come," says Julian Rachlin.
He has been the orchestra's 1st guest conductor since 2018. In that time time, he has become a great favorite with both the orchestra's musicians and the audience. And vice versa.
- "Working with the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra is something very special for me.orchestra. The musicians here have an enormous desire to develop. Their curiosity makes this an unusually focused and disciplined orchestra. I'm really looking forward to developing our musical language and identity in the years to come," he says.
Rachlin is a world-class performer who has played with and conducted the biggest and best for a number of years. Now he wants to invite the world to Kristiansand.
- Already from my first season, I've had the pleasure of inviting several soloists that I personally hold in the highest regard in this world. Both the orchestra and the audience deserve the best," he says.
Spending more time in Kristiansand in the years to come, he sees as a a gift. He has high ambitions for the city, the region and the orchestra's role in the lives of people in the region.
- This is an absolutely stunning area of the world, with beautiful nature, delicious food, and many great people. I have a dream that the orchestra will even more meaningful to the people who live here. I have a goal that more people discover that they have a world-class orchestra on their doorstep, he says and concludes:
- I hope that in the coming season we can create new relationships both inside and outside Kilden, and that in this way we can become a natural and important part of people's lives.
