Petronella Barker

Petronella Barker is from Colchester and Fredrikstad and educated at the National Academy of Theatre. Petronella is a permanent employee at the National Theater in Oslo, where she has played a number of roles, including Cathleen i Long day's journey towards night, Natalja in Three Sisters, The daughter-in-law in Winter Detention, Mrs. Sørby in The Wild Duck, Tekla i Creditors, Hedda in Hedda Gabler, The Spirit in Growth of the Field, Leone in Negroes and Dogs in Battle and Rebekka West in Rosmersholm - a role for which she received a Hedda Award nomination, Hippolyta/Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hermiane i The Dispute, The Flying Child, The Wife in Crashed Angel, Sonnets, The Witch in Journey to the Christmas Star, Donna Elvira in Don Juan, Timmy in The Story of a Marriage, Killjoy in The Art of Asking, We Need to Talk About Faust, Mrs. Capulet i Romeo and Juliet.

At Oslo Nye Teater she did Ofelia i Hamlet and Edvarda in Pan. Petronella has also played Agnes in Fire at Göteborgs Stadsteater and Genia in The great expanses at Dramaten in Stockholm. She has periodically been employed by Stockholm City Theatre and has played Rita in Little Eyolf, The Countess Orsina i Emilia Galotti, his wife i Playing with fire, Jelena in Uncle Vanya, Merteuil i quartet and Gellhorn i Gellhorn and Hemingway. Petronella has also starred in several films and TV series such as including Sweetwater, Thrane's Method, Hawaii/Oslo, The Troublesome Manfor which she received an Amanda Award nomination for, Victoria, Svenskjævel and Codename Hunter.

In 2022 she will be seen as Ljubóv i The Cherry Orchard vat Kilden Theatre.
