Kilden
Ungdomskilden is our very own specialized theater program for young people aged 13 to 19.
We believe that theater training is valuable in all aspects of life, whether one aspires to be an actor, give a presentation in the classroom, or simply be an empathetic fellow human being. Participation in Ungdomskilden will help develop skills, the ability to empathize, and, not least, a constructive critical eye toward the arts. The instruction is practical and process-oriented. Participation in Ungdomskilden is intended to give students a sense of belonging to Kilden and Kilden , as well as in-depth knowledge of the theater machinery.
Being a member of Ungdomskilden does not necessarily mean participating in a performance. Whether Ungdomskilden as a whole or a group of students takes part in the theater’s productions varies from year to year.
Ungdomskilden is part of Talent Sør – Theater; Kilden Knuden’s theater program. The groups in the theater program (Musikal Kompaniet, Ungdomskilden) meet regularly for joint activities and professional development at Knuden or Kilden’s facilities at Knuden.
UngdomsKilden has classes every Thursday between 16:30 and 21:30, 2.5 hours per group.
In addition to regular classes with a permanent teacher, the students can participate in workshops with other performing artists/actors, and in this context, weekend rehearsals may be relevant. When UngdomsKilden participates in larger productions, periods of rehearsals every day must be taken into account. All teaching is compulsory.
“It’s not a theater school, but perhaps a theater preparatory school?
It’s Kilden’s initiative for young people who want to try their hand at performing on stage.
It’s a joy to see them perform now.”
Ungdomskilden consists of a great group of committed young people who love being on stage. Read more about instructors, goals and regulations here.
Our instructor is Silje Hansen Flemmen!

Silje is permanently employed at Kilden as a singing and theater educator and has special responsibility for Kilden's focus on children and young people. She is the project manager and educator for UngdomsKilden and has through this directed, developed performances and been involved in a number of productions as an educator in Kilden.
The curriculum at UngdomsKilden is designed to provide students with a solid foundation for pursuing formal acting training. UngdomsKilden was established with support from the Cultiva Foundation and is part of an initiative to enhance skills and develop talent in the region.
