Ungdomskilden our very own theater immersion program for young people aged 13 to 19.

About the teachingadd

UngdomsKilden classes every Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with each group session lasting 2.5 hours.

In addition to regular classes with a permanent instructor, students will participate in workshops with other performing artists and actors, which may involve weekend rehearsals. When UngdomsKilden part in larger productions, students should expect periods of daily rehearsals. All classes are mandatory.

We believe that theater training is valuable in all aspects of life, whether one aspires to be an actor, give a presentation in the classroom, or simply be an empathetic fellow human being. Participation in Ungdomskilden help develop skills, the ability to empathize, and, not least, a constructive critical eye toward the arts. The instruction is practical and process-oriented. Participation in Ungdomskilden give students a sense of belonging to Kilden and Kilden , as well as in-depth knowledge of the theater machinery.

Being a member of Ungdomskilden not necessarily Ungdomskilden participating in a performance. Whether Ungdomskilden a whole or a group of students takes part in the theater’s productions varies from year to year.

Ungdomskilden part of Talent Sør – Theater; Kilden Knuden’s theater program. The groups in the theater program (Musikal Kompaniet, Ungdomskilden) meet regularly for joint activities and professional development at Knuden or Kilden’s facilities.

Our instructoradd

Our instructor is Silje Hansen Flemmen!

Silje is a full-time employee at Kilden a singing and theater educator, with a special focus on Kilden’s programs for children and young people. She serves as project manager and educator for UngdomsKilden in this capacity has directed and developed performances and been involved in numerous productions as an educator at Kilden.

Expected goal achievementadd

Develop stage and interaction skills and gain familiarity with different forms of scenic expression.
Develop and unite body, voice and mind through exercises in acting technique.
Develop the ability to reflect on one’s own role in collective theater work.
Develop aesthetic sense, creative powers and the ability to see the value in the artistic theater process.
Develop an understanding of the inner workings of the theater—specifically, how the theater functions as an institution and how different artists collaborate with one another in the creation of a production.

The curriculum at UngdomsKilden provide students with a solid foundation for applying to formal acting programs. UngdomsKilden established with support from the Cultiva Foundation and is part of an initiative to enhance skills and develop talent in the region.

Rules and regulationsadd

Classes at UngdomsKilden mandatory. Because the classes are group-based and process-oriented, we rely on everyone to make attendance a priority. Your absence affects both your own learning and the learning of the others in your group. Therefore, please remember to always notify us if you are sick at:kilden
Excused absences apply to illness or exceptional circumstances. If students have more than three unexcused absences, they may lose their spot at UngdomsKilden.
Students are expected to prepare if they have been assigned homework or reading material.
Mobile phones are not allowed in the practice room.
At UngdomsKilden a zero-tolerance policy toward bullying.
