Kilden performing arts centre a new interdisciplinary talent program for young professional artists at the beginning of their careers. The program offers participants a unique opportunity to develop their artistic skills through work spanning the performing arts, music, and singing in one of Norway’s most comprehensive artistic environments.
As the only institution in the country that brings together theater, a symphony orchestra, and an opera/vocal ensemble under a single organization, Kilden is uniquely Kilden to develop new artistic expressions based on collaboration across different disciplines. The program builds on this strength and enables participants to both deepen their expertise in their own fields and work together on joint productions.
The program is aimed at directors, actors, musicians, and singers who wish to explore and develop their artistic expression through engagement with other art forms. Participants gain experience from Kilden’s various artistic disciplines— Kilden , the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, and Kilden Kilden —while collaborating to develop their own projects.
The program strengthens both technical and artistic foundations. Particular emphasis is placed on:
Participants will be involved in production, outreach, and audience engagement, and will take part in concerts, performances, and various outreach activities.
The program aims to foster new forms of artistic expression and contribute to a broader and more diverse range of cultural offerings in Kristiansand and Agder. Participants will develop productions to be presented both at Kilden throughout the region, and they will contribute to knowledge sharing through collaborations with, among others, the University of Agder, cultural schools, and the independent arts community.
Through close collaboration between art forms and communities, the program aims to strengthen both the professional and local cultural scenes. The goal is to develop artists who demonstrate high professional standards, an ability to innovate, and a conscious engagement with their audience.
The call for applications and recruitment will take place in the spring of 2026.
