Enjoy the magical music of Sir Elton John and Hans Zimmer from "The Lion King" performed live by an orchestra of 80 musicians, choirs and musicians from Cinema Festival Symphonics conducted by Steven Ellery. Behind the orchestra are spectacular, evocative animations and video on a large screen that take us right back to Simba the lion cub and the African savannahs.
The story of Simba, who is searching for his destiny in the great "circle of life" touched the whole world when Disney released the movie "The Lion King". A few years later came the musical with the same title and new songs from Sir Elton John. It too became a worldwide success. The concert will feature film music legend Hans Zimmer's Oscar-winning soundtrack and Elton John's hits such as "Hakuna Matata", "Circle of Life" and "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" from the musical production.
Steven Ellery is conductor and artistic director of this production together with Cinema Festival Symphonics. The orchestra has done a number of film music concerts such as "Game of Thrones", "Star Wars", "Harry Potter", and many more. Together they take us to African savannahs with majestic lions, impressive elephants, elegant leopards and of course Pumba the warthog and Timon the meerkat.
