UngdomsKilden presents improved Himmeluret
Did you miss the apocalypse? Do not despair. After this spring's success with Gabriel Scott's Himmeluret, it's now the turn of UngdomsKilden to take on the popular doomsday comedy. Kilden Theatre's own talent program presents the play in an informal and humorous version, where the young people play through Scott's classic text with both warmth and self-irony.
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the writer Gabriel Scott's birth, Kilden is staging his first dramatic work - again! The anniversary year is not over, and in December the audience will be able to experience the work either again, this time in a completely different way, or for the first time.
Himmeluret tells the story of the eccentric preacher Brother Daniel who appears in a small southern village and claims that the end of the world is approaching. He brings with him the book Himmeluret, written by Professor Jeremiah Dimble-Dumble, who has allegedly calculated that the apocalypse will come at 04:00 on August 11. Soon, the entire village is in full swing with preparations, confessing sins and settling old accounts - all in the hope of being ready when the time comes.
The young people in UngdomsKilden give the play new life, and with youthful enthusiasm they take the audience on a journey filled with humor and warmth. They have taken a trip to Kilden's warehouse and brought down stage design and props from last spring's performance, putting them on to add their own lively touch to Scott's comedy.
Welcome to a screening where seriousness and humor meet in a heartwarming comedy.
