Henning Kraggerud, Artist in Residence 2018/2019
Henning Kraggerud has collaborated with KSO on several occasions. He is one of Norway’s foremost musicians, a soloist of the highest international caliber, and an exciting composer, chamber musician, and educator. He serves as artistic director of the NOSO Chamber Orchestra and teaches at the Barratt Due Music Institute and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Henning Kraggerud has recorded a number of critically acclaimed CDs. He has received many awards, including the Grieg Prize in 1998, the Sibelius Prize in 2007, and the Spellemann Prize in 2009. The violin Henning Kraggerud plays was built by Guarneri del Gesù in 1744. Its sound can be heard at Kilden four concerts during the 2018/2019 season.
