Julian Rachlin is considered one of the world's finest violinists and since 1998 has also built an increasingly successful career as a conductor. He has collaborated with renowned ensembles such as the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and the English Chamber Orchestra, the Tonkunstler Orchester in Zurich, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and others. He is Principal Guest Conductor of the Royal Northern Sinfonia, Newcastle UK, and the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, Finland.

Julian will have two roles in the KSO as both conductor and soloist. In his first season with the KSO, he is conductor and soloist in Sinfonia Concertante by W.A. Mozart. During the New Year's Concert, he will perform several delicate virtuoso miniatures by Fritz Kreisler.
