Kilden & Competence Center
A Meaningful Tradition at Kilden
The Christmas Gospel has a long and strong tradition at Kilden, and over the years the concerts have taken on various forms and styles. What all the productions have in common is a clear set of values, in which our cultural heritage plays a central role through the presentation of the Christmas Gospel and traditional Christmas carols. Christmas is a holiday that concerns everyone, regardless of our circumstances in life. The Christmas Gospel should therefore be filled with content that harmonizes with the Christmas message and creates space for both reflection and warmth.
An important part of the concept is our partnership with a nonprofit organization that works with people who have experienced life’s darker sides. For even though Christmas is a beautiful and festive time, it can also be a vulnerable and difficult time for many. The Christmas Gospel seeks to remind us to care for the people around us; therefore, collaboration with these organizations is an important part of the projects.
Sing-alongs are also an important part of these concerts. Traditional Christmas carols embody history, tradition, and a message that brings people together across generations. When we sing them together, we create an experience that fosters a sense of belonging and conveys values such as hope, peace, and compassion.
The next Christmas Gospel reading is on December 17, 2026
