"Maskefall" was a performance created and performed by people with personal experience of mental health and/or substance abuse. People who are often excluded from mainstream cultural offerings. The participants created new texts and music based on experiences and themes related to their own lives, or as family members. They were involved in the entire process, from start to finish. Some on stage, some through art, some through written contributions, and some behind the scenes in various roles.
Maskefall employed the methodology of collaborative art, featuring meaningful human connections, in which participants with personal experience of mental health and/or substance abuse worked alongside professional artists to create high-quality art.
