Kilden & Competence Center
When people are given the opportunity to be part of a professional artistic production, it can have a profound and lasting impact, both on the individual and on society.
Through the Spor project, we aim to foster greater understanding and inclusion between students with mental and physical disabilities and their able-bodied peers. Through Spor, large-scale, visual performances are created through close collaboration between the young people and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. The encounters between Kilden’s professional artists and the young people, as well as among the young people themselves, not only foster tolerance but also provide meaningful experiences. The performances are the result of long and challenging processes that challenge and move everyone involved in the project.
This initiative stems from Kristiansand Cathedral School Gimles’ (KKG) focus on art as a tool for empowerment and inclusion.
Spor has been held in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022, and over the years has received support fromthe Dam Foundationin collaboration withthe Autism Association, the Arts Council Norway, the Kaare Berg Foundation, andKulturtankenin collaboration withthe Norwegian Down Syndrome Network.
