Young composition

"Young Composition" enables school students throughout Agder and southern Telemark to compose their own music.

Entries are submitted to professional composers, who listen to them and select one composition from the elementary school level and one from the middle school level to be performed alongside the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra.

The result is a wonderful experience in which the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra performs a piece of music composed by talented school students from Agder and Telemark.

Through this unique learning experience, creativity flourishes, and the school’s music education comes to life through collaboration with a professional symphony orchestra.

The children provide the artistic vision, the expertise comes from the professional field, and elementary school serves as a platform for reaching a wide audience.

The project is based on the belief in the creative abilities of the individual and in the idea that the opportunity to express oneself contributes to life skills! The project believes that developing the creativity of children and young people is essential for equipping future generations to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
In this project, Kilden collaborates withSkapia – Creative Music Activities for Children and Youth,and elementary and middle schools in Agder and Telemark.
