KSO in town: – To everyone’s delight

For the eleventh time, the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra is splitting into smaller groups to spread the joy of music throughout the region during the busy pre-Christmas season. Nine different chamber ensembles will perform 19 free public concerts on December 13 and 14. 

“This is a project that the musicians really appreciate, and we know it’s popular with our partners and the audience. It gives us a chance to get out and play concerts where people are, and it offers listeners a musical respite during an otherwise hectic pre-Christmas season,” says Pål Svendsberget, director of the KSO.  

The KSO concerts in Byen take the orchestra musicians to Arendal, Lillesand, Vennesla, and a variety of locations in Kristiansand. The venues range from newspaper offices and banks to schools and bakeries. Svendsberget believes it is good for the orchestra to experience different environments these days.  
 
“We feel very comfortable in Konsertsalen Kilden, but I think it’s nice to sometimes take the music with us and present it in completely different places,” he says.
