KSO Out on the Town 2024

For thethe second time, the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra is splitting into smaller groups to spread the joy of music throughout the region during the hectic pre-Christmas season. Seven different chamber groups will perform a total of 45 free concerts on 11., 12.  and 13December.  

“This is a project that the musicians really appreciate, and we know it’s popular with our partners and the audience. It gives us a chance to get out of Kilden play concerts where people are, and it offers listeners a musical respite during an otherwise hectic pre-Christmas season,” says Pål Svendsberget, director of KSO.   

The concerts will take the orchestra musicians to Arendal, Søgne, Mandal, Lyngdal, and a variety of locations in and around downtown Kristiansand. The venues range from newspaper offices and banks to schools and bakeries. Twenty of the concerts are open to the public. The others will take place at partner venues throughout the region.  

 “We feel very at home in Konsertsalen Kilden, but I think it’s nice to sometimes take the music out and perform it in completely different venues,” he says.
