Composer Rolf Gupta and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra have been nominated for the Critics' Award for their work *Jordens sang*.
The nominees for the 2019–2020 Critics’ Awards for theater, music, and dance were announced today. In the music category, Rolf Gupta and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Peter Szilvay, are nominated for the work*Jordens sang*. The work had its world premiere atperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre Novemberperforming arts centre , 2019.
Emil Otto Syvertsen, a reviewer for Fædrelandsvennen, writes: “The KSO is celebrating its centennial in the same season as the OFO. To mark the occasion, the KSO commissioned the work *Jordens Sang* by Rolf Gupta—a one-hour piece for orchestra, choir, and soloists. It received a fantastic premiere at Kilden Kristiansand, and is a work that deserves more performances and much acclaim.”
