New digital concerts every week
The Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra has made the most of this time without an audience in the hall. Newly recorded concerts are now available every week on the orchestra’s YouTube channel.
The digital concert series kicks off on Friday, April 23, at 6 p.m. The program features Johan Svendsen’s beautiful First Symphony, conducted by Eivind Gullberg Jensen.

Orchestra Director Geir Rebbestad is pleased to showcase what the orchestra has been working on “behind closed doors.”
Proud of the orchestra
“I’m proud that we’ve managed to pull this off during such a challenging time. And we hope the concerts will be a bright spot for those who miss going to concerts. Right now, we’re only allowed to admit 100 people into the venue, so there are many who won’t be able to get tickets,” says Rebbestad.
In the coming weeks, online audiences will also be able to enjoy newly recorded works featuring Leif Ove Andsnes and Henning Kraggerud, among others.
