Agnes Kittelsen
Agnes Kittelsen is an award-winning Norwegian actress from Kristiansand with extensive experience in film, TV, and theater.
Kittelsen graduated from the Norwegian Academy of Theatre in 2003 and made his television debut shortly thereafter in the series Skolen (2004–2005), in which she played the lead role of Anneli.
In 2008, she made her feature film debut in the role of Tikken in the critically acclaimed action drama Max Manus. For this role, she won both the Amanda Award and the Kanon Award in the category “Best Supporting Actress.”
In 2010, she played the lead role of Kaja in the dramedy Sykt lykkelig. The film won the “Grand Jury Prize” at the Sundance Film Festival, and Kittelsen was nominated in the “Best Actress” category for both the Amanda Award and the Kanon Award.
In the critically acclaimed feature film Kon-Tiki from 2012, Kittelsen played the role of Liv Heyerdahl. The film was nominated for an Oscar in the “Best Foreign Language Film” category, in addition to a number of other awards and nominations.
In the years that followed, she made a name for herself in the TV series Halvbroren (2013) and Dag (2010–2015).
In recent years, she has appeared in the role of Hermione in the hit series Exit (2019–2023). For this role, she was nominated for a Gullruten Award for “Best Actress.” In 2022, she also starred in the popular feature film Full Coverage.
In 2026, she will star in one of the lead roles in the Netflix series Jo Nesbø’s Harry Hole.
Kittelsen has also tried her hand at directing, and in 2018 she directed an episode of the dramedy One Night.
In addition to his film and television roles, Kittelsen is also an experienced stage actor and has performed on some of the country’s most renowned stages—including the National Theater, Den Nationale Scene, Det Norske Teatret, Riksteatret, and BAM in New York.
In the fall of 2025, she will appear in the role of Mrs. Alving in Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen at Kilden .
