Astrid Sandvand Dahlen

Astrid Sandvand Dahlen sings alto in Kilden . She lives in Kolbotn but has strong ties to Southern Norway through her family—which has also given her a warm affection for life in Southern Norway.

Astrid has a background as a clarinetist and began her musical journey in a school band before realizing that singing was closest to her heart. She has studied at Toneheim Folk High School, the University of Oslo, and the Norwegian Academy of Music, where she earned a master’s degree in vocal performance.

Musically, she isn’t drawn to any one specific genre, but rather to music with powerful lyrics, moods, and excellent craftsmanship. She is particularly interested in what emerges through collaboration with others, and loves the intricate ensemble work in which sound, phrasing, and expression are shaped collectively. For Astrid, this is precisely one of the most rewarding aspects of singing in KVE.

Astrid loves spending time with her family—whether at concerts with her daughter or on the sidelines during her son’s soccer games. She herself is a passionate Arsenal fan.
