Deise Faria Nunes

Deise Faria Nunes is a performance artist, theater scholar, and PhD candidate in the Art in Context program at the University of Agder.

Her areas of expertise include performance studies, rituals, Black and intersectional feminism, decolonial perspectives, and interdisciplinary art research.

Deise was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil. In 1999, she moved to Norway, where she began working with experimental performing arts in 2003–2004. While developing her own practice and methods, she has worked as a performer, dramaturg, producer, consultant, teacher, and writer, and has collaborated on projects initiated by artists, organizations, and institutions.
