Espen Solsbak

Espen Solsbak is from Stavanger and currently lives in Tomter in Viken. He studied at the Faculty of Performing Arts at the University of Stavanger, the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome, and the Oslo National Academy of Opera.

Espen made his debut as Giuseppe in *La Traviata* in 2013 on tour with the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet. He has also performed the role of Bill in A Hand of Bridge, sung the lead role in the Revansj Mods musical at the Stavanger Concert Hall, and played Gherardo in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi during the Oslo Opera Festival. He also played the lead role of Paul Pinmay in the newly written opera The Life to Come by Louis Mander and Stephen Fry during the Oslo Opera Festival.

Espen is a sought-after ensemble singer and performs throughout the country, with engagements at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, the Arctic Philharmonic, the Christiania Men’s Choir, Opera Rogaland, the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and Opera, andperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre. At the latter venue, he has been a permanent member of Kilden since 2018 and has appeared in Puccini’s Tosca , Gupta’s Song of the Earth, and as a soloist in Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music with the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra.
