Jake Wiltshire

He developed an interest in lighting design at an early age through his sister’s drama group. In middle school and high school, he was part of the student-run stage crew for theater productions and concert evenings.

Jake has no formal training, but has worked his way up from stage technician and production electrician to technical director at the Royal Academy Opera. He is an honorary fellow at the Royal Academy of Music and has designed lighting for productions at all the major music colleges in the UK. As a freelance lighting designer, he has now worked on productions for, among others, the English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Royal Academy Opera, and Royal Northern College of Music, as well as the Royal Opera House, Irish National Opera, New Zealand Opera, St. Gallen Festival, and Kilden .
