Mareike Wang

Actor

Mareike Wang trained as an actress at the Paul McCartney School; Liverpool Institute for Performing arts (2003-2006) and has been part of Rogaland Theatre's ensemble since 2009.

At Rogaland Theatre in recent years, she has been seen as Sally Bowels in Cabaret, in most of the theater concerts such as "Mozart" "Beethoven" How, Tønes and "Wakeful Dream", in the love drama "Breath" together with Espen Hana, in "The Indian" by Tore Renberg, in "The Thousandth Heart" by the same man, starring in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" "Maria Stuart" and "The Art of Robbing a Bank".

In 2011/2012 she had great success with her self-produced performance "Last Call-Ei tenkt time i Eva Cassidy's liv" written by Svein Harry Schöttker Hauge.
This also resulted in her winning the Stavanger Artist of the Year award in 2012.

In addition to Rogaland Theatre, Mareike has been employed by The Norwegian Theatre, where she appeared in "Half the Kingdom" and "Sweeney Todd". At Edderkoppen Teater she played Pepita in Beintein Baardson's musical production of Evert Taube.

In the summer of 2021, she played the role of Ulrika in "Kristina frå Duvemåla" in Moster Amfi, directed by Jostein Kirkeby-Garstad. In the fall, she will be seen as Gyda in the major production "Hårfagre" in Stavanger Concert Hall.

Mareike is also a singer and artist and is currently working on her first album.

She plays the role of The Green-clad & Anitra in this year's production of Peer Gynt in Fjæreheia.
