Maritea Dæhlin

Maritea Dæhlin was born in Oslo and has lived most of her life in Mexico. She trained as an actress at Nordic Black Express in Oslo from 2005 to 2007. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in Devised Theater from Dartington College of Arts in Devon, England, from 2007 to 2010. In addition, she holds a diploma in interdisciplinary literature from the San Agustin Arts Centre (CASA) in Oaxaca, Mexico, from 2012.

Maritea Dæhlin is a prominent performing artist in the independent performing arts scene and has made a name for herself with her own productions, such as*Sleep Locks the Bones*, *Originally a plant, I guess you have a lot of questions.A bedtime story*, and*I WANT TO BE TRADITIONAL*. For the latter, she was nominated for both the Hedda Award and the Critics’ Award.

The last time Dæhlin was with us at Kilden, she wrote and directed*In the South, They Have the Sea*.

Dæhlin is also active in the visual arts and has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally in countries such as Zambia, Mexico, the United States, the Czech Republic, Denmark, England, and South Africa.
