Martin August Tornquist

Martin August Tornquist is a tenor from Eidsvoll Verk who grew up in a family with deep roots in music. He has a particular fondness for Brazilian genres such as bossa nova and samba, inspired by his Brazilian heritage.

Martin studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music and earned his master’s degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. In ensemble singing, he is particularly fascinated by the physical experience of sound and the close interaction that arises when voices come together in a shared expression.

If the opportunity had arisen, Martin would have loved to sing in a choir conducted by Johann Sebastian Bach

When he isn't singing, he enjoys spending time reading fiction, and has recently become a fan of the author Yoko Ogawa.
