Pernille Usterud-Svendsen

Pernille Usterud-Svendsen is from Oslo, born in Southampton and took her 5 year degree in visual arts at Escola Massana, d'Art i Disseny in Barcelona, Spain.

Pernille has been working with visual art for many years, where painting is her main domain, but also sculpture and collage. She is perhaps is perhaps best known for her large paintings on old sailcloths, which could be seen in Kristiansand. Kristiansand.nå at Kilden Theater in 2019. Pernille has had numerous exhibitions in Spain, Paris and Norway. She has also participated in artist organizations such as La Xina Art and AXA, which, among other things, was behind large art installations and Performance Art in Barcelona. She has long been responsible for art exhibitions at Saltholmen Lighthouse outside Lillesand, where she herself has exhibited several times. After many years in Barcelona, she moved with her family to Lillesand, and got a job at Kilden Theater as a theater painter and prop maker, and where she is now head of the prop workshop. Pernille wanted to try new things and took a course in Set Design For Performance at Central Saint Martins, London. She was keen to pursue this further. She is now working on her first set design with the story of Sheherazade - and the word that lasted 1001 nights produced by Kilden Teater.
