Rame Lahaj

Rame Lahaj, born in Istog, Kosovo, is a renowned lyric tenor with an outstanding international career. He is known for his performances at some of the world’s most prestigious opera houses, which have secured him a place among the leading singers of his generation. His performances have graced stages such as the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Paris National Opera, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the Arena di Verona, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Los Angeles Opera, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Staatsoper Berlin, and Opera Australia in Sydney.

His recent and upcoming engagements include his signature role as Alfredo Germont in *La Traviata* at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Cavaradossi in *Tosca* at Seattle Opera, the Opéra National de Lorraine in Nancy, the Latvian National Opera in Riga, and the Hong Kong Opera, Corrado in *Il Corsaro* at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Rodolfo in *La Bohème* and Edgardo in *Lucia di Lammermoor* at the Wrocław Opera, and the Duke in Rigoletto at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.

Lahaj is a frequent guest soloist at gala concerts around the world. Among his recent and upcoming projects are a Plácido Domingo gala concert at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, a “3 Tenors” gala concert in Turkey alongside Marcelo Álvarez, Murat Karahan, and Ramón Vargas, as well as gala performances in Padua and Trondheim.

In 2016, Plácido Domingo awarded Rame Lahaj the most prestigious and important prize at The World Opera Competition, “Operalia.”
