Theis Irgens is from Grimstad and graduated from OsloMet and the University of Agder.
Theis has worked in the performing arts as a director, producer, performer, festival producer, and consultant. Since 2008, he has created six puppet theater productions with the company Finken og B. Two of these were produced in collaboration with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra.
Theis is the owner and founder of the performing arts company Spektra, which produces and creates interdisciplinary productions in the fields of performing arts and dance in Kristiansand. From 2018 to 2024, Theis worked as an advisor and producer for the international network organization ASSITEJ, and served as producer for four editions of the international ASSITEJ festival in Kristiansand.
Theis has visitedperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre times before, including for the ASSITEJ Festival, Fotspor, Spor, and Helix – The Hanging Garden. *The Lament* is the first production Theis has directed at Kilden .
