Welcome to an inspiring evening at Frihavn with author, journalist, and social commentator Guri Idsø Viken.

Guri Idsø Viken (b. 1979) is a literary scholar, journalist, public commentator, and political advisor at Frivillighet Norge. She made her debut in 2011 with *Magnhild*, a novel about sex, drunkenness, and public administration, co-written with Inger Johanne Sæterbakk. In 2025, she had her major breakthrough with the historical novel *Krakk*, which was nominated for the Sørlandet Literature Prize.

At the literary salon, she will meet with Irene Gressli Haugen from the Norwegian Writers’ Center in Sørlandet for a conversation about literature, history, society, and the journey that led to one of the most talked-about Norwegian novels of recent years.

The ticket includes a delicious dinner at Restaurant Frihavn. The restaurant opens at 6:30 p.m.

Choose from:

Confit chicken thighs with baked potatoes, gravy, carrots, parsnips, celery root, and thyme

or

Roasted cauliflower (vegan) with habanero butter , tahini, kale, oregano, cilantro, pistachios, and crispy shallots.

The Literary Salon is organized in collaboration with the Norwegian Writers' Center in Southern Norway.
