When people have the opportunity to experience professional artistic productions, it can have a lasting impact, both on the individual and on society. The Spor project aims to foster understanding and inclusion among students with various disabilities.
In Spor, large-scale, visually stunning performances are created through collaboration between young people and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. Encounters between professional artists and young people—and among the young people themselves—can foster tolerance and provide truly memorable experiences. The performances are the result of long and demanding processes that challenge and move everyone involved.
Spor is based on Kristiansand Cathedral School Gimle’s focus on art as a tool for empowerment and is a Kilden project. Kilden is a center of expertise for inclusion and collaborative art.
On NRK.no, you’ll find a two-part documentary series about Spor and the young people participating in the project.
Surveys were conducted in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
Spor has received support from the Dam Foundationin collaboration with the Autism Association, the Arts Council Norway, the Kaare Berg Foundation, and Kulturtanken in collaboration with the Norwegian Down Syndrome Network.
You can find reviews of the performances and coverage of the project in our media clips.
