Goodbye, Nathalie!

“We would like to thank Nathalie for the five years we’ve spent together. The orchestra has made great strides during this time, with many highlights, and we know that the audience has also greatly appreciated Nathalie,” says KSO Director Pål Svendsberget.

Stutzmann himself says the following in a farewell message to KSO:

– After five wonderful seasons, I will be stepping down as chief conductor of the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra at the end of the 2022–2023 season. I leave with so many wonderful memories of our journey together, and I wish my dear musicians all the best for the future.

During her years as chief conductor of the KSO, Nathalie Stutzmann’s career has really taken off. During this time, she has been announced as artistic director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and principal guest conductor of The Philadelphia Orchestra, both of which are among the world’s most renowned symphony orchestras.

“There’s no doubt that Nathalie has made tremendous progress in her career in recent years, and we’re lucky to have been a part of it. It will be exciting to follow her career going forward,” says Svendsberget.

Nathalie Stutzmann arrived in Kristiansand in 2018, initially for three seasons. She then signed an extension for two more seasons with the KSO. That contract expires this coming summer, which means that her concerts with the orchestra on January 19 and 26, 2023, will be her last in Kristiansand for the time being.
