Composers, musicians, choreographers, lighting and sound designers, set designers, and directors provide the professional framework for the performance. The young participants themselves set the parameters for the content; they choose which stories to tell and how best to convey them through dance and music. In this way, Fargespill becomes an intimate, musical encounter with the lives of young people.

We believe that art and culture can contribute to quality of life, mutual understanding, value creation, and social development. Fargespill is a space where children and young people can experience a sense of accomplishment and build strong social relationships, regardless of their background or life circumstances.

The performances are developed and produced in-house and serve as an example of how Kilden operates as a center of excellence for collaborative art and social practice.

Fargespill Kristiansand is a collaborative project involving Kristiansand Culture School, Kongsgård School Center, the University of Agder, and various elementary schools in Kristiansand. Cultiva contributed to the establishment of the project (2014–2017). The concept was originally developed by the Fargespill Foundation in Bergen.

Fargespill Kristiansand took place in 2015, 2017, and 2019.
