Going for gold in 2024/25
Going for gold in 2024/25:
After a season as a silver subscriber, Bjørnar Abusdal is going for gold in 2024/25. “I see it as a gift to myself,” says the music-loving resident of Kristiansand.
“Being able to go to Kilden Thursday evening and experience a concert of such high quality truly enriches my life. And when we heard the presentation of the program for the coming season, it became clear that we might as well sign up for a gold subscription,” says Bjørnar Abusdal.
Together with his friend Hilde, Bjørnar has been attending concerts by the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra ever since Kilden more than 12 years ago. In recent years, he has been going more often, and before last season, he purchased a season ticket for the first time.
A great gift
“It was a way to commit a little, both to each other and to ourselves. Some Thursdays you might have a lot to do, be tired, and maybe just want to spend the evening on the couch. But then I already have a ticket to a concert, so it’s easier to choose that instead. Without exception, I feel more energized after a concert with the KSO. So investing in a subscription is, in many ways, a really great gift to myself, he says.
Classical music is nothing new to Bjørnar. He has been interested in music his whole life, sang in a choir at a young age, and recalls both concerts and operas at the old theater on Kongensgate. But since Kilden opened, Kilden attending concerts more frequently.
Lucky
“Going to concerts at Konsertsalen Kilden Konsertsalen is a completely different experience. And the orchestra has really come into its own since Kilden . We’re incredibly lucky to have this opportunity here in Kristiansand. I hope even more people get to experience the fantastic orchestra we have here in the city,” he says.
The season as Silver subscribers was such a positive experience for Bjørnar and Hilde that they decided to upgrade their membership for the 2024–25 season.
“There were just so many concerts we wanted to go to, so instead of keeping the Silver subscription and buying individual tickets for a bunch of other concerts, it made more sense to upgrade to Gold,” he recalls, adding:
– We have even more exciting events in store for the 2024/25 season!
