Harald Furre, New CEO

The board has today unanimously appointed Harald Furre (55) as CEO of Kilden performing arts centre Southern Norway. Harald Furre most recently served as State Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Modernization, a position to which he was appointed in January 2020.

Furre served as mayor of Kristiansand from 2015 to 2019 and was previously the CEO of Oxford Research.

“We are delighted that Harald Furre has agreed to lead Norway’s second-largest performing arts institution,” says Marianne Johnsen, chair of the board at Kilden.

“Furre brings extensive senior leadership experience from both politics and the business sector, as well as a deep understanding ofperforming arts centre Kilden performing arts centre. We believe he will be a strategically skilled, knowledgeable, and unifying leader.”

The position of CEO is a five-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension. Harald Furre will take office as soon as possible. He succeeds Hans Antonsen, who stepped down in December 2019 to take up the position of director at Det Norske Teatret. In the meantime, Geir Rebbestad, Director of the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, has been serving as Executive Director of Kilden.

The hiring committee consisted of:

The hiring committee has been assisted by the recruitment firm Hodejegerne, and the hiring process has been kept confidential, including for the other board members.
