Join us for a “theater bonanza” the last weekend in May
There will be theater for every taste at Kilden last weekend in May.
On the last Friday and Saturday of the month, audiences will have the opportunity to experience no fewer than five different theater productions. Among other things, audiences can enjoy an “extended pre-show talk” before *Samhold Søkes*, which has recently been postponed until 2022.
Highlights
– We’re excited to see how “Vorspiel Samhold Søkes” is received, because this is something we’ve never done before. We want to create a sort of expanded version of a traditional pre-show talk. Here, the audience may be lucky enough to get a sneak peek at Samhold Søkes a year before the premiere, but regardless, the theme of “unity” will be discussed in various ways,” says Daniel Stamnes of Kilden , who is delighted to have so much quality theater in Kristiansand all in one weekend.
Critics' favorites
The critics’ favorites from Susie Wang are heading to Kristiansand to perform *Burnt Toast*, described in *Aftenposten* as “… something as rare as existential B-movie slapstick theater for adults.” At the very other end of the spectrum, the youngest audience members are invited to LørdagsKilden and the musical feel-good show Bestevenner on Saturday afternoon. Ludvig Holberg’s folk comedy Erasmus Montanus is performed on both days, and Abrahams Barn by and starring Svein Tindberg on Saturday.
Stamnes hopes this can be the start of what might become an annual event in Kristiansand.
Annual event
“This year, it was a bit of a coincidence that we ended up with so much great theater in just two days, but after a few discussions between the departments, we quickly realized we could make something of this. We think this could already be a real gem for theater enthusiasts this year,” he says.
