Kilden & Competence Center
Sparebanken Sør has provided funding to enable us to carry out the program we have named “From Lullabies to Hymns at the End of the Journey.” This program offers activities that encourage cultural participation for people in Agder and Lower Telemark throughout their lives. The program includes a wide range of projects designed to reach people of all ages, with diverse functional abilities, identities, health challenges, and socioeconomic and geographic backgrounds.
“From Lullabies to Hymns at the End of the Journey” consists of a series of subprojects, each of which uses performing arts, music, and song in a way that helps improve the quality of life for the participants. The projects are based on knowledge and expertise regarding how music, singing, and artistic processes can give participants a sense of mastery, belonging, and interpersonal understanding.
The funding has also made it possible to hire a research coordinator at Kilden will help to understand and document the results and impacts of initiatives that use art and culture as tools for improving living conditions and enhancing quality of life, based on the various subprojects.
