Kilden
Saturday School is for children and young people aged 12–20 from across Agder, and is part of Kilden’s talent development program. Saturday School aims to provide students with challenges and opportunities for growth in a professional arts and culture environment, and to help them connect with other young people who share their interests.
The student group consists mainly of students from cultural schools. They focus on rhythmic music, ensemble playing, and string ensembles. Classes on Saturdays include ear training, music theory, ensemble playing, and chamber music. Classes are held primarily atKilden and Concert Hall, with instructors from the University of Agder, Kristiansand School of the Arts, and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. Emphasis is placed on creating a positive social environment for the students.
Kilden is part of the Agder Saturday School, a collaborative project between the Kristiansand School of Culture, the Norwegian Council of Cultural Schools in Agder, the university’s Talent Development Program (TUP), and Kilden .
