Kilden Voices
At Kilden Vokal, you’ll become part of a dedicated and inclusive community where we create memorable experiences together, both at rehearsals and on stage.
The choir is conducted by Hanna Balsnes, and Kilden serves as the mentor choir.
Kilden Vokal is Kilden’s youth choir for people between the ages of 16 and 26 who enjoy singing and want to develop their skills alongside others who share the same interest.
The choir is a place for learning, growth, and musical development. We take part in productions at Kilden, both as an independent choir and in collaboration with the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and other choirs. Through a varied repertoire, members gain experience with different musical styles and develop both vocally and on stage.
Conductor
Hanna Balsnes is a singer, choir conductor, and music educator from Søgne in Kristiansand. She holds a bachelor’s degree in voice and music education from the Norwegian Academy of Music and the University of Pretoria in South Africa, as well as a master’s degree in choral conducting from the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark.
Upcoming concerts
August 28:Music Brings Life – Anniversary Concert at Kilden the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and various artists.
October 29:Songs in a Troubled World – a pop concert at the Cathedral featuring the UiA Choir.
December 17:The Christmas Gospel – a Christmas concert at Kilden several of the city’s choirs and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. Kilden Ung Vokal will perform a commissioned work written for the choir by composer Kim André Arnesen.
