READY FOR A LEADERSHIP ROLE
After 20 years as an actor and theater scholar, Valborg Frøysnes takes over as director of Kilden Teater in January 2020. She begins with a contribution to the centenary of Jens Bjørneboe; a performance based on his classic Jonas - which opens in February.
As theater manager, Valborg Frøysnes (42) will use all her acting and theater experience, her artistic visions and strategic moves to develop Kilden Teater further. She wants more people to feel a sense of belonging to the theater, not least young people.
- There's no reason why young people shouldn't also feel a sense of ownership of Kilden as a building. Not everyone should necessarily like theater, but everyone should have the opportunity to experience art and you should feel welcome when you come to Kilden. I also firmly believe in being in continuous dialog with the audience, and not just throwing a lot of new things at them that they have no basis for relating to.
