Get ready for the Boulanger tribute on Thursday

Kilden KSO are no strangers to the brilliant entertainer Evelyn Jons. Lucky audience members will remember her from KSO’s 2018 New Year’s Concert, when she paid a magnificent tribute to one of the composers on Thursday’s program: Leonard Bernstein.

In addition to Bernstein, the program will feature music by Quincy Jones, Gabriel Fauré, Astor Piazzolla, and Michel Legrand, to name a few. Saxophonist Bendik Hofeseth will join the orchestra in a performance of “The Midnight Sun Never Sets” by the former composer, and the concert will be conducted by the Swedish maestro Per-Otto Johansson.

Thursday’s program is based on what the featured composers have in common: they were all students of the legendary French composer, pianist, and educator Nadia Boulanger.
